My name is Patricia DeSandro. I am, first of all, a mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I have a college degree in fine arts and worked as a professional artist and art teacher for at least three decades. I spent a few years when my children were very small, subsistence farming in rural Indiana with my first husband during the ‘back to the land’ movement in the 1970’s. I learned about joy and sadness, weakness and strength. Life with my second husband taught me much about love and trust, life and death. Ten years ago I became a certified hypnotherapist with the International Medical and Dental Hypnotherapy Association. I love what I do and what I have done. But this isn’t all. I have another life.
Since early childhood, I have been a clairvoyant/clairaudient medium; able to see and interact with spirits and communicate with animals, plants, and stones. My gifts were not accepted within my family or community, though the gifts were hereditary, so I learned to deny them. But there were times in my life when the other worlds bombarded my mundane world to the point of leaving me unable to function. I reveled in the beauty and wonder, the excitement and fear of ‘otherworld’ experiences and sometimes ignored the management of my physical life. The burden of serving others with these gifts, sometimes with great pain and sadness, was heavy. I struggled a lot. The struggle was worth it, however. Many dramatic events including some near-death-experiences opened my eyes to other realities and taught me much about the joy of living now.
In the Pagan community, I am known as Bona Dea Lyonesse. I work within the Wisewoman/Shamanic and Roman-Celtic traditions as an Elder and High Priestess. In 1999, after more than a decade of study and research, I founded a Wiccan teaching coven: Circle of the Sacred Grove Temple of the Old Religion. Having retired from running the coven, I now devote my time to teaching, writing, leading workshops and performing public ritual. I also work to facilitate healing through spirit communication and the use of stones and plants.
I have experienced great love, great loss, great fear and great bliss. My life has been extraordinary in its diversity of experiences and I feel truly blessed. I am a storyteller at heart and I feel the need to share what is in my spirit or I might burst. My beloved children, grandchildren and former students have helped me learn enough about the world of computers to put my message out there.
Here is my message
There are many worlds within and between what we think we know. There is indescribable wonder and beauty, wisdom and bliss interwoven in the fabric of our lives. If we only look behind our realities, read between the lines and listen to the silence, we can discover the true riches that our souls are waiting to claim.
These are just pretty words, I know. Anyone can say them and sound like they might know something. Bliss is an elusive thing and can be easily faked…for a minute. I have met and tried to follow a few fakers in my life. They are searching like everyone else for deeper meaning. Even though we are all travelers through life, each person’s journey is uniquely their own.
I’m certainly not saying I have discovered all the answers of the universe. I am saying, “Hey, let me tell you about the amazing moments I experienced when the ‘clouds’ parted and I saw magical wonders in the light of other truths!”
Maybe, by reading some of my stories, you might remember something from your past that was a glimpse of a deeper mystery or you might be inspired to open your eyes to the hidden wonders that surround you now. I can tell you with confidence that you have had and will have many moments of magic in your life. The awareness of these moments will feed your soul like nothing else can. It could remind you of why you are here.
